Six years after opening its doors, Masullo Pizza has become a neighborhood gathering spot in North Land Park. It's a small operation, with a cozy glow given off by the wood-fired oven in the back of the restaurant. Here families and friends alike come to delight in the satisfaction of delicious brick oven pizza and a well-run restaurant. Neapolitan-style pizza, salads, appetizers, and a pasta of the day are all on the menu at Masullo, accompanied by wine, a few beers on tap, and various other beverage choices. You can taste the quality in the ingredients and see the care they put into each plate.
Owner Robert Masullo had just this business plan in mind when he moved back to his hometown of Sacramento. When asked why he chose Land Park to locate his restaurant, he talked about community and neighborhoods that he was a part of growing up. He wants a place where we can bring our kids to learn how to eat out; a place to catch up with old friends; a place to share.
Along with small intimate place settings for two or four, there is a row of beautifully rustic wooden tables set up family-style down the center of the restaurant. Patrons can sit side-by side getting to know each other, or at least check out the pizzas their neighbors ordered. The appealing contemporary décor was designed by award-winning interior architect Curtis Popp who maximized their limited budget to create the ambiance that Masullo is known for.
It all comes together here, which is why business is good at Masullo. Try it out for yourself and let us know what you think!
